My assignments on third year at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts all centered at Amager Fælled, Ørestad in Southern Copenhagen. Though much of this area is protected from new developments, a new part of the city will eventually be built here. But which already existing qualities should be preserved? How should this city be made? And what kind would a building here look like?
This assignment was the initial analysis of the site. Its' characteristics and its' qualities translated in to a single piece of temporary architecture.
This short assignment investigates several strategies for how a city could be developed as well as in which stages it should be built.
The master plan for the city uses the initial analysis of the site and proposes a city in a somewhat different image than the rest of Ørestad.
For this, concluding, assignment, I zoom in and design a resident hall in our proposed master plan.
